SUS440F Stainless Steel

In the hardened state, SUS440F stainless steel is hard, but it has higher toughness than SUS440B and 11Cr17. SUS440A stainless steel is used as cutting tools, measuring tools, and bearings. SUS440F belongs to martensitic stainless steel and has the highest hardness (which can reach above HRC58) among all stainless steels and heat-resistant steels. It is mostly used for components such as nozzles and bearing parts, as well as molds and other components that require both corrosion resistance and hardness. SUS440F is a steel grade that improves the free-machining property of SUS440F steel and is used in automatic lathes.

Mechanical properties of SUS440F stainless steel        

The SUS440F stainless steel pipe has a carbon content ranging from 0.95% to 1.2%. After proper heat treatment, its hardness can reach above HRC58. It has excellent wear resistance and can maintain the stability of its shape and dimensions for a long time.

The chromium content in the SUS440F stainless steel pipe is 16% to 18%, which can form a dense chromium oxide film on the surface of the pipe, enabling it to have good corrosion resistance in various corrosive environments.

Although SUS440F has a very high hardness in the hardened state, in the annealed state, it can be processed through conventional metal processing techniques and can be made into steel pipes of various specifications and shapes.
