Explain51CrV4(1.8159) spring steel has good mechanical properties and process properties, high hardenability, adding vanadium to make the steel grain refinement, reduce overheating sensitivity, improve strength and toughness, with high fatigue strength, yield ratio is also high, but poor weldability, cold deformation plasticity is low.
51CrV4 is a higher grade spring steel, used as a large section of high load important springs and operating temperature <300 ℃ valve springs, piston springs, safety valve springs. Standard parts such as coil slotted cylindrical pins can also be manufactured.
51CrV4 corresponds to the German brand 50CrV4 (1.8159) and the French brand 51CrV4
This standard applies to non-alloyed and alloy cold rolled strips with thicknesses up to 6mm and non-alloyed and alloy cold rolled and tempered strips with thicknesses ranging from 0.3mm to 3.00mm for springs and other conversion applications

① Customers can specify hardness or tensile strength values, but not both. If neither is specified, the tensile strength value should apply.

②For thicker strips, their mechanical properties should be agreed upon at the time of ordering or inquiry.

③ For cold-rolled delivery of materials, the strength range of 150MPa or hardness range of 50HV should be applicable, for example :850 ~1000 MPa or such as 240 HV~290 HV.

④For materials supplied under quenching and tempering conditions, a range of 150 MPa or 50 HV shall be applicable, such as 1350 to 1500 MPa or 450 to 500 HV.
