20Cr/ML20MnTiB Cold Heading Steel Hot-rolled Coils

The hot-rolled coils of 20Cr cold heading steel are a kind of steel products commonly used in the manufacturing of fasteners and other cold heading parts. The production process of hot-rolled coils of 20Cr cold heading steel:

Smelting: Generally, a converter or an electric furnace is used for smelting. By strictly controlling the quality of raw materials, smelting temperature, final composition, etc., the purity of molten steel and the uniformity of composition are ensured, and the content of harmful impurities such as inclusions is reduced.

Rolling: During the rolling process, the process of temperature control - rolling control - cooling control is usually adopted. Parameters such as the heating temperature, rolling start temperature, final rolling temperature, and cooling rate need to be precisely controlled to obtain fine and uniform grain structures, and improve the strength, toughness, and cold heading performance of the steel. For example, it is more reasonable to roll within the temperature range of 900 - 1150°C, and the rolling temperature should be as close to 900°C as possible; during the cooling process, holding or slow cooling at around 650°C should be avoided, and slow cooling can be carried out above 700°C to ensure the completion of the structure transformation.

The hot-rolled coils of 20Cr cold heading steel are mainly used in the manufacturing of carburized parts with relatively high requirements for the strength of the core part, and whose surfaces can withstand friction but with relatively small loads, as well as fasteners with high requirements for wear resistance or those subject to impact. They are widely applied in fields such as automobiles, motorcycles, and various machinery, for example, in manufacturing fasteners for parts such as automobile engines and chassis, as well as parts for the connecting parts of various mechanical equipment in mechanical manufacturing.
