Instructions• 0Cr18Ni9 (304) is a typical low carbon austenitic stainless steel, corresponding to the US grade 304. The brand is further reduced carbon content on the basis of 1Cr18Ni9 (302), has good processing and molding properties and oxidation resistance, has strong corrosion resistance to oxidizing acids (such as nitric acid), and has certain corrosion resistance to alkali solutions and most organic acids and inorganic acids. Intergranular corrosion resistance is better than that of 1Cr18Ni9 with higher carbon content, but it still has a tendency of intergranular corrosion when working in water and steam for a long time. The steel has good weldability. Austenitic stainless steel cannot be strengthened by heat treatment and can only be strengthened by work hardening.
• On the basis of 0Cr18Ni9 (304) and then reduce the carbon content, developed 00Cr19Ni10(304L), belongs to the ultra-low carbon austenitic stainless steel, has better corrosion resistance and intercrystalline corrosion resistance, also has good mechanical properties at high temperature, good weldability, no heat treatment after welding.
• 0Cr18Ni9 and 00Cr19Ni10 in some standards after 2007, such as GB/T 4240-2009, this standard, etc., have used the new grades 06Cr19Ni10 and 022Cr19Ni10, but the old grades are still commonly used in industrial production.
• According to the principle of intergranular corrosion, the lower the carbon content, the better the intergranular corrosion resistance and the better the corrosion resistance. In the past, the method of adding Ti, Nb and other elements is commonly used to control intergranular corrosion, but the addition of these strong carbide forming elements will make the processing performance of stainless steel worse, so it is now generally used to control intergranular corrosion by ultra-low carbon methods.
• This grade has largely replaced traditional austenitic stainless steel such as 1Cr18Ni9Ti in various industries, but 1Cr18Ni9Ti is still used in large quantities in China.
• 0Cr18Ni9 is widely used in standard parts, in addition to the production of national standard products, but also the production of some low-strength beacon products, a variety of enterprise standard products.
• Physical properties: Melting temperature range 1398~1454°C
• Chemical properties: 0Cr18Ni9 (304) has stable oxidation resistance in hot air below 900°C and good corrosion resistance to nitric acid, sulfuric acid, acetic acid, oxalic acid and phosphoric acid. Intergranular corrosion damage may occur when parts work in corrosive medium, water or steam medium for a long time. In the state of solid solution, the arch constant variable sample is in 42% magnesium chloride boiling solution. Intergranular corrosion failure occurred at 31h.
00Cr19Ni10 (304L) has stable antioxidant properties in hot air below 900°C. It has good corrosion resistance in various highly corrosive media at different temperatures and concentrations, and there is no intergranular corrosion tendency at room temperature, but it will be sensitized under 500~800° conditions for long-term use, and the intergranular corrosion sensitivity of the material will increase.
• Material processing performance: 0Cr18Ni9 (304) good cold processing performance, bolts, screws can be cold heading molding, other products can also be bent, crimping, folding, deep drawing and other processing, hot processing performance can also be. The cutting hardening rate is higher, the cutting process should use carbide cutting tools and low-speed large feed processing technology, its turning efficiency is about 50% of the medium carbon steel, and requires the use of coolant cooling.
• Heat treatment performance of the material: this grade is a typical austenitic stainless steel, which is characterized by good corrosion resistance and oxidation resistance, but it cannot be strengthened by heat treatment, and the strength can only be improved by work hardening, such as through cold drawing or cold rolling. Austenitic stainless steel is generally only annealed and solid solution treatment, and the solid solution state is stable austenitic structure and non-magnetic. After cold deformation, the matrix structure is austenite + induced martensite, and the strength is improved.
• 0Cr18Ni9 solution system is 1010~1150°C heat preservation, fast cooling. Due to the low carbon content of this grade, carburization should be prevented, and vacuum furnaces are generally used for heat treatment
• Application: This grade of material has a large number of applications in standard parts, the production of national standard products, the production of some low-strength beacon products, various types of enterprise standard products are produced more, the product categories include screws, bolts, nuts, plugs, plugs, washers, rivets, cylindrical pins, clamps, etc. This grade can replace the traditional stainless steel 1Cr18Ni9Ti and 0Cr18Ni10Ti.
• Selection suggestions: Tensile strength of 500Mpa or 700Mpa above, there are anti-oxidation, acid, alkali and salt corrosion resistance, while there is no magnetic requirements, recommended use.
• The final surface treatment is mainly chemical passivation (Ct.P), and electrochemical polishing (ECP), but also can be galvanized, cadmium plating, MoS2 coating, etc., can be selected by the user according to the service environment.
• This standard applies to hot rolled and forged stainless steel rods with dimensions (diameter, side length, thickness or distance between sides) not greater than 250mm. Hot rolled and forged stainless steel rods in sizes greater than 250mm are also available upon negotiation between supply and demand
